Many car buyers are investing in the latest Chevy models in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Cary. Being a world-renowned automaker offering the most products with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Chevrolet has spread its tentacles in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Canada.
Chevy permits you to integrate your smartphone apps through the Chevrolet MyLink display touch-screen or by voice command through Siri. With this comes the ability to check text messages, stream your favorite music, view navigation maps, and more. So, new Chevy owners can now stay connected and safe always.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both designed to show the features and apps that drivers reckon on most. Android Auto is created around a suite of Google apps like Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Now, Google Play Music, Spotify, Skype, and more. Apple CarPlay provides you with some select iPhone features and apps to be shown on and used through the MyLink screen or voice command.
Vehicles with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration are seen in fourteen of the 2016 Chevrolet models. The 2016 Chevrolet models having the seven-inch MyLink system is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. These vehicles include the following:
• Camaro coupe and convertible
• Silverado 1500 and HD models
Cars with only Apple CarPlay
However, out of the 16 models, 13 of the 2016 Chevy models are equipped with Apple CarPlay ONLY and have an 8-inch MyLink system. These models include the following:
• Corvette convertible
• Camaro convertible
• Silverado HD
To use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in a Chevy vehicle, plug in your smartphone to the USB cord. A “projection” icon appears on the MyLink screen once you connect your phone.
After this, you can use your smartphone applications directly on the infotainment screen of your Chevy. However, remember that you cannot access all the apps. You will have to check Google Play and iTunes for compatible apps. Data plan rates will also apply in this case.
